The Beach Waterpark and Community Attractions Partner to Provide Experiences for Season Pass Holders

MASON, Ohio, March 21, 2012 - The Beach Waterpark and eight community attractions today announced a partnership that will provide alternative experiences to season pass holders of The Beach Waterpark.  As part of the partnership among The Beach Waterpark, Kings Island, City of Mason, Coney Island Amusement Park, Countryside YMCA, Cincinnati Zoo, Morgan’s Outdoor Adventures, Ozone Zipline Adventures and Dave & Busters, season pass holders of The Beach Waterpark will receive free or reduced admission to a number of area attractions.

“On behalf of The Beach Waterpark, I want to thank our community partners for their generous offers to our season pass holders,” said Ralph Vilardo Jr., authorized spokesperson on behalf of The Beach Waterpark.  “While we regret that we won’t be able to provide refunds to season pass holders, we couldn’t be more proud of how our community partners have come together to support our season pass holders and provide them with valuable experiences.”

The total retail value of the free pass offers, not including discounted offers, is close to $200.  Season passes to The Beach Waterpark most recently retailed for $89.99.

A free one-day visit to Kings Island is available to Beach season pass holders between April 28 and May 28.  The Gold pass is available for purchase at a cost of $49.99 between April 13 and May 28. 

City of Mason
A one-time 10 percent or $5.00 discount good toward a daily, monthly or annual pass to the Mason Community Center or Lou Eves Municipal Pool for the 2012 season or a $5.00 discount at the Grizzly Golf Course any day after 12:00 p.m. during the 2012 season is available to season pass holders.

Coney Island Amusement Park
Two free Sunlite Pool & Classic Rides combo tickets to Coney Island Amusement Park good through June 30 are available to season pass holders.

Countryside YMCA
A free one week family pass to Countryside YMCA with a waived “joiner fee” is available to season pass holders though June 30.  Not valid with other offers.

MASON, Ohio, March 9, 2012 - After more than 27 years in business, The Beach Waterpark announced plans to close for the 2012 season today. The closure begins immediately and is the result of a challenging competitive and economic climate and changing patron entertainment habits.

“The Beach Waterpark management team is extremely saddened to make today’s announcement,” said Ralph Vilardo Jr., authorized spokesperson on behalf of The Beach Waterpark. “We have been proud to provide entertainment and employment to Southwest Ohioans for more than 27 years.  Like many businesses these days, we had to make the difficult decision to close after concluding that further investment to support the business cannot be justified.”

The Beach Waterpark has employed more than 15,000 people during the course of its operation.  An estimated 7.5 million people have visited the park.  The Beach Waterpark has operated at a loss during the past several years.
